This weekend I finished my first milestone: a solid foundation made of stone slabs and lawn edging stones, to serve as the base for a continuous loop with a passing siding for the future model train station. The rear turnout with the short stub track next to the signal box is intended for a future expansion.
The standard rail joiners of the LGB tracks caused problems right from the start during testing. There were contact issues, and the rails kept coming apart while being laid. I replaced them with brass rail clamps
